Duane Byrge Hollywood Reporter Writer B.J. Nelson has skillfully combined plot elements and situations which draw from the best of westerns and anti-Establishment cop films. Apr 15, 2018 Full Review Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times All of these people are thrown together into a plot that is, of course, essentially meaningless. But the movie respects the plot, and keeps it moving, and a lot of excitement is generated. Rated: 3.5/4 Oct 23, 2004 Full Review J.A. Conner Santa Cruz Sentinel Let's face it, this is nothing more than a formula action picture which should've had the brains to dispense with all the dumb boring "social relevance" sub-plots and get on with the big, loud guns and bone-cracking kung-fu. Nov 5, 2019 Full Review Dennis Schwartz Dennis Schwartz Movie Reviews The macho modern-day cowboy character played by Norris should appeal to men who just love him shirtless in a shoot-out. Forged S What is Chuck Norris' most popular role? All of them. Okay, okay... Joking aside, it's arguably Chuck's turn as the roundhouse kickin' Walker, Texas Ranger that he's most remembered for. However, there wouldn't be a Walker if it wasn't for his earlier role as Texas Ranger Jim McQuade. Watching this movie felt like a pilot episode for Walker, Texas Ranger. Funny, because that's almost exactly what they did. If you watch the movie and pilot episode, back to back, you'll see the similarities. Plus, the movie also stars David Carradine, fresh off his turn on the show Kung Fu, as the villain Rawley Wilkes, a role that surely inspired his role in the movie Kill Bill. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/10/24 Full Review Nol P Had been 23 yrs no kidding since seeing this and I watched "LWM" as a kid about 3 or 4 times until seeing it again 23 yrs ago and then again finally last night. My thoughts??? ... A nice fun story overall! Interesting overall. Good action scenes. Call it a classic I do guess. But wow, such terrible over the top acting a lot of the time and such poor directing! Story: 8 out of 10 Action scenes: 7 out of 10 Acting: barely an average 5 out of 10! Directing: 2.5 out of 10 at best! Overall: 4.5 out of 10 all day long The music was hit and miss big time too! Some times just amazing like the opening sequence and many other moments so very weak! Rated 2 out of 5 stars 08/06/23 Full Review David W An absolute corker from the great man Chuck Norris. A modern western in spirit. Norris and main villain Carradine are both on excellent form. The sound track really adds to the tone and atmosphere. One of Chucks best. A top action movie and a perfect Friday night lads movie. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/21/23 Full Review Dean E Chuck Norris has such skill!!!!!! Ha ha ha ha...... Rated 1 out of 5 stars 06/11/23 Full Review Welcome to the J First, yes 4 stars, but this movie is not good. It's great because it's exactly what you want it to be, it meets expectations. Chuck Norris finding locales and people to do karate with, in Texas. David Carradine being kinda creepy and weird, and also making karate. This is a recipe for success! Some of it doesn't age well, but the movie is so firmly 80s, that it works well enough. How many of these goons went on to play bad guys in episodes of MacGyver?? That's what I wanna know. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/04/23 Full Review Alain M "Long Wolf McQuade is a classic Chuck Norris film that should not be missed! With its action-packed scenes and intense shootouts, this movie will keep you on the edge of your seat. Chuck Norris delivers a powerful performance as the rough-and-tough lawman J.J. McQuade, showing off his martial arts skills and showcasing his tough guy persona. If you're a fan of 80s action films, or just a fan of Chuck Norris, this movie is a must-see. A true classic! 💥 #ChuckNorris #ActionClassic #80sAction 🔫" Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Read all reviews
