Texas ranger J.J. What is Chuck Norris' most popular role? All of them. Okay, okay... Joking aside, it's arguably Chuck's turn as the roundhouse kickin' Walker, Texas Ranger that he's most remembered for. However, there wouldn't be a Walker if it wasn't for his earlier role as Texas Ranger Jim McQuade. Watching this movie felt like a pilot episode for Walker, Texas Ranger. Funny, because that's almost exactly what they did. If you watch the movie and pilot episode, back to back, you'll see the similarities. Plus, the movie also stars David Carradine, fresh off his turn on the show Kung Fu, as the villain Rawley Wilkes, a role that surely inspired his role in the movie Kill Bill.

Had been 23 yrs no kidding since seeing this and I watched "LWM" as a kid about 3 or 4 times until seeing it again 23 yrs ago and then again finally last night. My thoughts??? ... A nice fun story overall! Interesting overall. Good action scenes. Call it a classic I do guess. But wow, such terrible over the top acting a lot of the time and such poor directing! Story: 8 out of 10 Action scenes: 7 out of 10 Acting: barely an average 5 out of 10! Directing: 2.5 out of 10 at best! Overall: 4.5 out of 10 all day long The music was hit and miss big time too! Some times just amazing like the opening sequence and many other moments so very weak!

An absolute corker from the great man Chuck Norris. A modern western in spirit. Norris and main villain Carradine are both on excellent form. The sound track really adds to the tone and atmosphere. One of Chucks best. A top action movie and a perfect Friday night lads movie.

First, yes 4 stars, but this movie is not good. It's great because it's exactly what you want it to be, it meets expectations. Chuck Norris finding locales and people to do karate with, in Texas. David Carradine being kinda creepy and weird, and also making karate. This is a recipe for success! Some of it doesn't age well, but the movie is so firmly 80s, that it works well enough. How many of these goons went on to play bad guys in episodes of MacGyver?? That's what I wanna know.
