Former safe cracker Michael Lanyard (Warren William) is now working on the right side of the law. But his past still follows him around, this time in the form of an old rival who tries to frame him as the one responsible for the theft of top-secret documents. At the same time, Lanyard finds himself wedged between a pair of very different women -- femme fatale Karen (Rita Hayworth) and his faithful though exasperated girlfriend, Val Carson (Ida Lupino).

nick s I found the comedic moments bothersome to sit through. Just depends if you like lighthearted, whimsical detective stories with cute banter between the leads. Not for me. Very stilted support cast. The main actors are competent enough though. Don't expect a lot of cunning as far as the plot goes... the heroes are saved more by dumb luck. If anything their efforts are bumbling near the end. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 05/03/24 Full Review bill t Although more slick looking then the others, this seems to lose a bit of the Wolf's sleaziness as a grandmaster thief and making him into a Thin Man clone. This one's about plans for a super spy plane. Half of them are stolen, and the thiefs are trying to get the other half, but Lone Wolf plays switcheroo a lot with them throughout the entire movie.
