Robert Daniels RogerEbert.com But for the most part, 'Long Shadows' is short on reasons to have our attention. Rated: 1/4 Nov 7, 2025 Full Review Frank Swietek One Guy's Opinion An oddball addition to a hoary sagebrush genre.... Even fanciers of that dying breed, the Western, will have a hard time finding much to like in 'Long Shadows.' Rated: C- Nov 10, 2025 Full Review Todd Jorgenson Cinemalogue Despite sharing the heartfelt intentions of its protagonist, this dusty Western morality tale feels like a better fit for the small screen. Nov 7, 2025 Full Review Shawn Van Horn Collider It's flat characters on an unfinished stage, rehearsing a bad script, with no weight behind any of the odd choices and filming techniques. It wants to be a movie, but it doesn't know how. Just stay on your horse and ride past this one. Rated: 3/10 Nov 7, 2025 Full Review Eddie Harrison film-authority.com …a Western that rings more than a few changes on the traditional format…William Shockley's Long Shadows needed a couple more passes on the script to iron out the kinks, but it’s ambitious fare...has enough novelty to commend it to Western genre fans... Rated: 3/5 Nov 7, 2025 Full Review Matt Hambidge FandomWire A couple good performances and semi-poignant scenes can be building blocks for an insightful film. But when that's all there is, and nothing is actually built out from there, everything around those pieces crumbles. Rated: 4/10 Nov 7, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

Joe B This movie was a lot of fun to watch. Loved it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/08/25 Full Review Jason C A beautiful and very interesting Western with a really intriguing twist! Without spoiling, it makes me want to go back and watch it again to see if I was picking up on all the details. It's a really gorgeous film with some great performances from the leads, and while it's not quite as action-packed as some it's got a very satisfying narrative of revenge and redemption. Definitely worth checking out! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/10/25 Full Review Ken A I enjoy wine tasting. Many years ago, while wine tasting, the host told me a valuable lesson about wine, but it applies well to movies too. The experts might rate a wine (or movie) good or bad, but what matters most is what you, as an individual thinks. I thoroughly enjoyed Long Shadows, critics be damned. It didn't have the blood of a Peckinpah movie, or the darkness of a Tarantino, or all the foul language most movies today seem to need to make them interesting. It was a good old Western, with a modern story plot. A revenge film and a love story. Even my wife, who is not a fan of Westerns in general, loved it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/10/25 Full Review Lucile C. The movie was exciting and easy to follow. The story of the main actor and his family. It showed the dedication to family and to do whatever it takes for them. There were no curse words in the movie which was awesome. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/10/25 Full Review Joanna F What a refreshing twist on traditional Westerns! Beautiful cinematography. Loved this was also a clean language film, which is a rare find in Hollywood today. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/09/25 Full Review gene o I enjoyed the movie very much. I hope to watch it again soon.
