      Critics Consensus

A sharp and deceptively layered comedy that's further fueled by the odd couple chemistry of its leads, this Long Shot largely hits its marks.

Keaton W Villainizes half of its audience. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/23/23 Full Review Maribel W This is my comfort movie. Chalk full of grown up 90s humor and subtle jokes that never warrant an outloud laugh but still make you feel like you are a fly on the wall of a blossoming relationship and in that sense, are perfect. There are some parts that are absolutely hilarious and well delivered and other parts that are ridiculously unrealistic that it lets us know that this film doesn't take itself too seriously and the writers and actors aren't afraid to have fun. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/07/24 Full Review Philip G rrally formulaic garbage. c- Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/24 Full Review Tony R Already a ridiculous plot design, but proved to be over the top without complexity or intrigue. A few laughs but overall a movie that disappointed, and proved that movies are still made without reason and we walk like lambs towards them. This lamb is very disappointed. Go watch Dave. A great movie with a similar ridiculous plot set up that aims high. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/11/24 Full Review Koi P I can't remember the last time I laughed so much watching a movie. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/11/24 Full Review Bob Realistic staircase walk on drugs. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/02/24 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Richard Brody New Yorker The movie's lack of political substance empties out the relationship at its center; having little to work with and little to hold them together, the actors appear to be meeting each other for the first time in every scene. May 10, 2019 Full Review David Edelstein New York Magazine/Vulture I generally like Rogen a lot but this performance is bad - worse than it even seems because of the drain it is on the movie. May 7, 2019 Full Review Mark Kermode Kermode & Mayo's Film Review Crass, but satirically-pointed...it's a film with benevolence, which likes its characters... May 6, 2019 Full Review Manuel São Bento MSB Reviews Its well-written screenplay, hilarious comedy bits, and outstanding protagonists make a surprisingly serious story remarkably entertaining. Rated: B+ Jul 24, 2023 Full Review Eddie Harrison film-authority.com …two likable stars keep Long Shot watchable, but it’s a shame the script goes low when it should be soaring high… Rated: 3/5 Aug 25, 2022 Full Review M.N. Miller Ready Steady Cut What separates Long Shot from other Rogen comedies is the chemistry not only between the leads but the entire cast. Theron carries the film with comedic chops and gives it its unexpected heart. Rated: 4/5 Aug 19, 2022 Full Review Read all reviews
