Subject matter was poignant and difficult, but was handled so poorly and in bad taste for the most part. Gere was actually good for once, but this film is filled with holes and unfinished storylines/character arcs. Hopefully a proper filmmaker makes a version of this film someday. (B-) See more R T @WriteToLive Mar 20 This movies was so shockingly bad that it has altered the way I feel about Richard Gere. In it Gere is the father of a dead 19 year old son who is killed in an auto accident before Gere's character ever meets him or even knows his son exists. The son turns out to be a drug dealer (the least of the young man's flaws) a serial stalker and public humiliator of his French teacher with whom he is obsessed. The shocking part is that Gere's character condones and even romanticizes his son's stalking and threat to the teacher, as does the dead son's mother. I just do not know why Gere would have chosen to participate in such a creepy movie at the later stage of his acting career. The movie is so out of sinc with our society's understanding of male predatory behavior. See more Frans B @FransB Mar 9 Not convincing.
