Tim Cogshell FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) Manipulative. Clever, but manipulative. Jul 13, 2024 Full Review Mick LaSalle San Francisco Chronicle Still, this is a welcome and unusual movie, and Gere gives a compelling performance. Rated: 3/4 Jun 25, 2024 Full Review Caroline Siede The Daily Beast Though the action has been moved to Canada, [Savi] Gabizon’s twisty story of grief and discovery remains largely the same. So it’s odd that the biggest problem with Longing is that it feels like its tone got lost in translation. Jun 10, 2024 Full Review Manuel Betancourt FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) No character functions like a human being. None of them make decisions or tell you things, and the dialogue is so sterile. Jul 13, 2024 Full Review Christie Cronan Common Sense Media This drama about love, loss, and self-discovery distills the complexity of grief. Jun 24, 2024 Full Review Jackie K. Cooper jackiekcooper.com The movie's entertainment is based on Gere's performance and he never disappoints. Rated: 6/10 Jun 18, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

Brian G I'll never get this time back. I would have felt more satisfaction and a greater sense of accomplishment kicking my little toe on the corner of the bed or dancing shoeless on Legos. The ending....wtf? Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 07/13/24 Full Review Faith M This movie was absolutely horrible. I wish I could give it negative stars. It was so slow, it didn’t flow well, and there were crude parts that made the experience completely non-family friendly on top of it all. Like why is there a random reference in the middle of nowhere to female anatomy?? It felt completely like a low budget, B movie that some high school kids made to show a drama film. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 07/11/24 Full Review LON W I wanted to like this film but it was pretty awful. The premise is ridiculous. Richard Gere's old flame tells him she had child with him and he's dead. No spoiler there. So he starts to find out things about his deceased son. He was a great Pianist and he had a crush on teacher and kept Diary about her. He graffitied a building with foul "POEM" oh and he has a club foot and was dealing WEED. Gere goes to Cemetery so many times I figured he had Frequent Flyer Miles for visiting the dead. Diane Kruger phones in her performance and the best thing about movie is how clean Canadian streets are. And it's a REMAKE! Oy! Rated 1 out of 5 stars 06/14/24 Full Review Audience Member I wanted to like it but it just didn’t come together completely. Sad to say, I think it was Gere that was responsible for that. His performance was uneven and lacked depth as incredulous events unfolded around him. He was flat and was the least interesting character. Alec Baldwin would have been a great choice. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 06/10/24 Full Review Nuggos 4 Unusual, and powerful for anyone who has experienced significant grief in their life. A complicated character and brilliant performance by Richard Gere. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/07/24 Full Review Read all reviews
