David Cornelius DVDTalk.com A mixed bag, with a tremendously engaging first half and a clunky, repetitive, salesman-esque second half... but it's got enough of the goods where it counts. Rated: 3/5 Jun 25, 2006 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member Not exactly what I was expecting but it still was a sweet and informating documentary on the Man of Steel. I was hoping for an exhaustive research on the cultural impact of Superman along with a psicological and philosophical study of its characters and instead what I got was a recount of Superman's appearences on other media, not even in comics, just in other media like radio, television and movies (along with a much too long biography of almost every actor that has donned the suit). I'm not saying it's a bad documentary, but it was very disappointing and I think the Man of Tomorrow deserves a better documentary to tell his story. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member This two-hour documentary goes over just about every media Superman was in up to 2006, making this a pretty informative piece. While it does mostly focus on the highlights (much of the comic book history is left out, and not every cartoon gets focused), it's not bad for 60 years of history. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member Great movie, of the history of The World's Greatest superhero. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member An interesting and informative look at the various incarnations of Superman since his creation. 10/10. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member Narrated by Kevin Spacey and featuring a bevy of interviews, insights and footage, this is really an extensive exercise in promoting Bryan Singer's 'Superman Returns' (2006), but one that's very difficult to resist for the Man of Steel's legion of loyal fans. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member 2nd best documentary ever (behind Audrey Hepburn Documentary) you know this won a BAFTA and Golden Globe for Best Documentary and it was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
