Audience Member I really enjoyed this movie,it felt a lot like not fade away, but without the drama and well,30 years later... Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member 88%.....seriously?!?! WTF Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Don't let the fact that Kevin Smith "chose" this for some self indulgent movie club in which he's supposed to be an authority on film making turn you off entirely... it reminded me of Bandwagon, a better movie with a similar theme featuring Kevin Corrigan. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member A Fun Surprise! Admittedly, I wasn't expecting much. It didn't look like the kind of film I would normally seek out. And truly, I never would have found this film if not for the promotional talents of Allison Scagliotti (who plays "Simone" in the film). But having found it and viewed it, I was pleasantly surprised and quite charmed-outta-my-socks by these punks. The beginning of the film enamored me. I felt invited in to the lives of these characters immediately and had an instantaneous investment in their welfare. And while the pacing dipped in only a couple of places, my interest in these struggling musicians easily carried me through. Overall, the pacing was actually very good and worked well. The music from "The Fingers" was fabulous. I hope iTunes releases a soundtrack. Being from this era (almost exactly), major kudos should go to the sound and art departments for their painstaking efforts to recreate the sights and sounds of the late 80's. (I wish vanities had taken a few pointers from them.) The film looks like a "labor of love," with tremendous heart and soul poured into it. Performances from the actors-especially the four main notables-were enticing. I appreciated the nuances they each brought as puzzle pieces to the whole. This is truly an ensemble, character-driven film. Beautifully gritty, heartbreaking and enchanting: I'm a fan. Watch it for the encounter. Listen to it for the music.
