Set in 2001, somewhere in rural India, Lost Ladies is about the delightful adventures of two young brides who get accidentally swapped on a train. In the ensuing chaos they each encounter a host of colourful characters, resulting in hilarious and unexpected consequences. The young lost ladies must take it upon themselves to venture on an endearing journey: one of immense discovery about themselves and womanhood; and the heartwarming and heartbreaking nature of life itself.

I just saw “Lost Ladies” and now count it among my favorite films! I wish I had time to write a thorough review but I’m sure there’d are plenty of good ones already. I’ll just say - really perfect from start to finish. I’m so glad to have seen this entertaining, beautiful, meaningful, hopeful gem!

I am quite resistant to sentimentality and having my heartstrings crudely yanked, as often happens with American movies; but this film was so well made that I often found it genuinely moving. The excellent acting of even the minor characters held my attention throughout. The case that women must not be caged by social traditions was well made, and never rammed home as it might be here in the West. There were many people to like and empathize with, and the 'change-of-heart' scenes, in which hard-boiled characters gave in to their generous impulses, were especially heartwarming. Highly recommended.
