Mia (Frances O'Connor), an Australian college student, is suffering through an ugly breakup with her girlfriend (Radha Mitchell) and unsuccessfully trying to switch majors. Her roommate, Alice (Alice Garner), is late on her honors thesis and can't choose between a handsome part-time gigolo (Matthew Dyktynski) and a coy medical student looking to rent a room in their apartment (Matt Day). Together, the two friends attempt to manage their relationships and the frustrations of college life.

This film is perceptive and perennial purely for its timely and topical balance between hand cam low budget originality and its springboard for a brace of young poised 2000 ‘something Australian talent who have pervaded well beyond the film’s accolades

The kind of film that's impossible to separate from the means and circumstances of its production - take away the story we all learned when it was released and it's simply a slight comedy that tries for quirky and most frequently lands on annoying.

A Fun peek into College Life with a Few Twists.Australian Film School Students,Friends & Lovers, deal with what they see as "Crises" in one day. Brilliant Dialog, superb acting by Frances O'Connor(Who I love in Brit Films),Radha Mitchell Matt Day, & Alice Garner & a well conceived Script make this more enjoyable than most College Themed Movies.I especially loved the never ending Thesis on Doris Day Films as a concept.Bravo
