L. O @RT68758720 04/03/2025 I really enjoyed this movie that kept me thinking about it for days after seeing it. Only in retrospect can we understand the real meaning and message. There's our guy who can see the future of a relationship at first kiss, however by seeing that future he has already altered it. The future he sees doesn't come true because he knows to avoid it, like not getting puked on. When he kisses the woman of his life, he becomes aware of their full future and, even though he doesn't try to avoid it this time, there are no surprises anymore. He knows what food she'll order, what she'll buy, etc. He becomes blasé, she becomes frustrated. Seeing how she already left his best friend because he was so predictable... this doesn't sound well for our couple. We like surprises, that's why we don't want movie spoilers, we thrive on challenges, on the butterflies in our stomachs, on risks. That's the message I got from the movie. If you were to choose between a life of absolute certainty and the unknown, what would you choose? It's a perfect example of how Hollywood made us believe that all stories should be and end the same way. This story doesn't follow the Hollywood "rulebook" which is why the lambda critics can't see beyond their noses. Granted, they could have expanded more on the predictability side, make the public understand the real issue. That was a bit too rushed imo, they could have spent 10-15 min more on it, however it's not every day we see a movie that gives us food for thought. Movies and books with this quality get 5* from me.
