C-
Coco and Mahlik's scenes are the only ones that seem to take place on earth. Everything else is from some Maya Angelou-inspired Mars. Go to Full Review

With a plot as predictable as a haiku, RZA and screenwriter Nicole Jefferson Asher would have done better to embrace the strangeness. Go to Full Review

There's not much added to the static thump of clich in "Love Beats Rhymes" to give this tale of a struggling young female rapper-poet any special life. Go to Full Review

This movie overall is just ok, not outstanding in any way but it was nice to see a story like this with a black woman as the hero so it wasn't a complete waste. Go to Full Review

She is a horrible actress See more 04/13/2019 It was better than we expected. The movie itself was pretty predictable but a fun watch. I enjoyed the storyline and the actors. The subject really interested me and I've never seen a movie explore rap and poetry this way. I always get a bit confused when I see Hana Mae Lee talk in a movie, to be honest. All I see is her Pitch Perfect character. She is a great actress though! I enjoyed the movie and it's an easy watch. If the subject interests you I would for sure recommend it :-) See more Read all reviews
