Wesley Morris Boston Globe In an age in which it feels as if seemingly pure intimacy no longer exists, this film thrives on nothing but intimate moments. Rated: 4/4 Jul 28, 2011 Full Review Robert Abele Los Angeles Times It's not that you don't care for these urbanites -- you do, but it's in spite of Andresevic's unengaged hanging-around and general air of slightness. Rated: 2/5 Jul 22, 2011 Full Review Elizabeth Weitzman New York Daily News Throw a party and ask all your friends to share their stories; you'll probably find more surprises, and have a lot more fun. Rated: 2/5 Jul 1, 2011 Full Review Gerald Peary Boston Phoenix Jill Andresevic's simply photographed documentary springs from an equally simple premise... Audience Member Most of the stories were quite compelling, and well told. Charming effort. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Nice little slice of NYC love stories. Follows 4 different relationships. Not gonna blow you away but it's very sweet and realistic portrayal of love life. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member A well-rounded documentary about love in its highs and lows. It follows several couples, ranging from two teenagers' first love together to an adorable elderly couple who look and sound like they came straight out of one of the interviews conducted in "When Harry Met Sally". The single father, Ethan, was probably the most interesting of the group and also the funniest. I probably liked him so much because he reminded me of myself in a few ways. The Indian couple was simply ridiculous. I can't believe that girl agreed to put up with that loser. When he told her to her face that he wished he hadn't gotten married, I couldn't believe that something like him managed to find someone who would pledge their life to being with him. Overall, I think the movie does a great job of giving everyone equal screen-time and keeping you interested in seeing where everything goes. Everyone is very distinct and you do care about the people you are watching, which is very good. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member Really enjoyed this documentary. Follows the lives of several couples - an elderly couple who have been married 45 years and the wife now has dementia, a divorced single dad of two teenagers who is doing the personal ads, a teenage couple, an Indian couple who are getting married and a gay man who has had surrogate twins after breaking with his boyfriend to have them. It's not highly dramatic, but it is interesting and most of the people you do care what happens to them. I found the elderly couple the most moving, while the one I liked least was the single dad (but I guess even he acknowledged at the end he needs to grow up). Good documentary about relationships. Recommended. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Read all reviews
