Richard Brody The New Yorker It's almost entirely a movie of activity, with the characters' doings thrust at viewers in abrupt, chunk-like scenes. The dialogue is compact and candid to match, turning thought into action with an aphoristic thrust. Jun 2, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

Kathy E I got sucked in by the Richard Brody recommendation in the New Yorker due to the film being available on the Criterion Channel. YUCK! This movie is awful. We could only watch half of it. It takes place in a terrible time for pretty much everything (1983) and it looks like it was shot by a high school film club. The characters are not compelling and some of the acting is just dreadful. It is really pretty much unwatchable by today's standards and we watch a LOT of older movies. What were you thinking Richard Brody?!? Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/21/25 Full Review Audience Member Dull, but you'll get to see Jamie stark naked. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member I rank it this high only because of the sex scenes. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Most notable as Jamie Lee Curtis' first genuinely dramatic role. And she performs admirably given the material. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member very good movie, funny too. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member I rank it this high only because of the sex scenes.
