Audience Member Myrna Loy is always a great presence in a movie. Her wit and style sometimes makes you lie to yourself about how good the film really is. Here she shines above the material. Robert Taylor debuts and shows potential. The script, however, is based on one ridiculous moment after another. I never felt that I wanted the couple to end up together. Not one of those great films from 1939. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Myrna Loy and Robert Taylor work well together. The plot needed a lot of work, but the star's chemistry was there throughout. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Bland comedy that isn't so funny, but is made watchable by the presence of Myrna Loy. Here Loy plays the daughter of a wealthy socialite who decides to strike out on her own. While sitting homeless in the park, she meets Robert Taylor and the two head out into the night for drinks, dancing and end up getting married. The film then takes an unfortunate dramatic turn and loses any charm there was in the film's opening act. Meh. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews
