Audience Member Although good actors and some nice intuition, the movie lacks substance, shows an exaggerated romanticism and finally builds an excessively fantastic plot, favoring literary invention over cinematographic construction, which should instead be the center of the work. I saw the movie twice: for the first time when it came out in theaters and then on video twenty years later, because I didn't remember anything, except the faces of the actors, a bit of music and the atmosphere of New York in the 90s. Anyway, if you need something easy, it could be a nice pastime to see it just once, in case you like those actors. Here Dafoe is the best one. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member Between 2 and 2.5 stars. The story tells you feelings among characters but, in the global, the plot looks just a not well-worked excuse to display them. At the end, everythings looks quite artifitial and with little meaning, and the expressions achieved are not enough to compensate them. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member No make sense. Make Blobbo headblob hurt. Life too short! Not waste here! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review carley e I swear I saw this movie several years ago and I thought I liked it, but watching it again today, I was like -- what was I thinking!? What a terrible waste of time. Yuck. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Another pleasantly odd Paul Auster flick. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member I'm sorry this is just one of the worst movies of all time. Something about me doesn't want to watch a horrible plot and Willem Dafoe sing 'Singin in the Rain'. Terrible acting and an embarrassment to filmmaking. Easily the worst movie I've ever seen.
