Wendy Ide Observer (UK) The story behind Lunana: A Yak in the Classroom is almost as heartwarming as the tale that it tells... Rated: 4/5 Mar 12, 2023 Full Review Kevin Maher Times (UK) It’s reassuringly familiar and nicely done. Rated: 3/5 Mar 10, 2023 Full Review Sahir Avik D'souza Time Out [This] coming-of-age story is sweet and warm, if a bit predictable. Rated: 3/5 Mar 10, 2023 Full Review William Stottor Loud and Clear Reviews With its focus on the importance of education and its sincere centre, Lunana: A Yak in the Classroom elevates its predictable material into something wholly uplifting. Rated: 4/5 Sep 3, 2024 Full Review Paul Kanieski KSQD Community Radio Lunana: A Yak in the Classroom was written, directed and produced by first time filmmaker Pawo Choyning Dorji. Dorji is a Buddhist, which in retrospect comes as no surprise; the story he tells unfolds like a Buddhist fable for modern times. Steve You dont want to miss this one for sure! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/27/22 Full Review Janet The cinematography and the story were excellent. I enjoyed it tremendously and highly recommend it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/21/22 Full Review Joan D Must see! Beautiful story. Beautifully filmed. A much needed lift to a world that needs it. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/18/24 Full Review Kevin M Follows a disillusioned teacher from the city as he spends a semester teaching in the most remote school in the world high in the mountains of Bhutan. In the highlands, he rediscovers his passion not only for teaching, but for life, as he reconnects with his roots. I loved the scene near the end when the young teacher carelessly dusts off the discarded iPod he was so desperate to charge in the opening scenes of the film. The film takes you on a journey of reconnecting with what is most important in life. Gets my pick for best International Film. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/18/24 Full Review Alzbeta F Get ready for a beautiful cinematographic reminder that a lot can be said without words. A lot is left to the viewer to deduce, interpret, an feel. Not your classical journey of a young man overcoming obstacles on a quest to adulthood. This movie ends up celebrating the importance of family roots, respect, the underpinnings of our humanity, whatever corner of he world we decide to explore. Unassuming, understated. Also, visually, this movie is stunning! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/07/24 Full Review Read all reviews
