Alex (Ben Stiller), Morty (Chris Rock) and other zoo animals find a way to escape from Madagascar when the penguins reassemble a wrecked airplane. The precariously repaired craft stays airborne just long enough to make it to the African continent. There the New Yorkers encounter members of their own species for the first time. Africa proves to be a wild place, but Alex and company wonder if it is better than their Central Park home.

Shubhra Gupta The Indian Express 04/29/2019
The sequel to the 2005 Madagascar is as spunky, witty and funny. However, what's a let-down perhaps is the story, which takes the same course as The Lion King, with a detour towards Shrek thrown in. Go to Full Review
Jim Schembri The Age (Australia) 12/26/2008

Punches its key themes of friendship, togetherness and family amid a hyperactive swirl of jokes, musical numbers and physical gags. Go to Full Review

It's a very handsome production, and a pretty funny one, too, which will keep audiences of all ages -- except perhaps the most cynical -- thoroughly entertained. Go to Full Review

5-year-olds will eat it up, teenagers will say it's kids’ stuff, and adults duped into chaperoning a trip to the movie theater will struggle to make it through. Go to Full Review

See more Jan 2 Definitely cool sequel See more Bernardo C @Bernardo2016 Dec 20 O filme consegue ser bom só por saber os pais de cada personagem e o universo de madagascar See more John K @UndeadKingUK Dec 6 Better than the first movie, but not good enough to be a classic. The animation is a huge improvement over the first film, Alex the Lion doesn't look like a complete jerk, Moto Moto is a funny character, Bernie Mac is excellent as Alex's father (Even if this was his last film) and its a no-brainer of giving each character their own storylines. But there is a few problems here; The story is a generic rip-off of the Lion King, some moments of the film were cringey to watch and the villain (played by Alec Baldwin) comes across as flat, unthreatening, forgettable, and one-dimensional. There's no real depth to his motivations, no complexity and no moments where it feels like he is a real threat, he's just a plot device with a smug face, a ridiculous hairstyle, and not real menace. I'd still recommend it because it's got some interesting ideas. See more Dylan C @Dylanthebiguy Nov 10 Is it crazy that I actually liked this one over the original and 3rd one? See more thiago s @Thiagostone Oct 23 Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom See more Read all reviews
