Ziz D EVIL VILLAIN. DIE. BAD MOVIE Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/05/25 Full Review DanTheMan 2 There are precious few, if any, made-for-television films that explode onto the screen with the attention-grabbing aggression of Made in Britain. The ferocity of the music, the face of the leading man, the locked-on-character steadicam that leads him from a waiting area to the courtroom in which the details of his latest offence are to be heard. It's all done with the sheer perfection one can only expect from Alan Clarke. The sheer quality of writing in David Leland's script is the sort of thing that's completely absent from TV today. He never tries to make Trevor likeable, but by giving him such a powerful voice, he forces us to listen to viewpoints that we are deliberately made to feel uncomfortable by. It's helped tremendously by Tim Roth's frighteningly convincing turn as Trevor, a veritable acting masterclass as so much of the attitude and hatred of this borstal boy skinhead is achieved with subtle eye movement or body language. Rarely does a film of any description dare to take its audience on such difficult terms, feeding them with one hand and slapping them in the face with the other, but Made in Britain manages it, remaining a difficult and confrontational work, but for all the right reasons. Tough, smart, angry, difficult, electrifying and without peer to this day, is just such a work. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/15/25 Full Review Martin S Very of its time. Gritty and dark (as the early 80s were) Great performance by Tim Roth and SOME of the supporting cast. The ending lets it down, as does the obviously low budget. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/11/25 Full Review Shioka O Story of Skinheads. Interestingly Tim Roth starred in another film called "Meantime" which is about becoming Skinhead soon after this film. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 11/19/22 Full Review Audience Member A up-to-no-good kid is stealing cars, terrorising "The Pakis" and smash windows and is certainly giving few f's about anything. He is in deep trouble, but never seem to care. He is into the system with special places for youngsters with issues and the only option after years of solvent sniffing and messing up prison seem to be the only option. A dark film about a brutal kid. Not much light here and while everyone wants him to change, tries to change him or genuinly tries to show him that there's ways out of it things just seem to turn even worse each day. Very impressive acting from Tim Roth - argubly his best role to date. He looks really psycotic and went all in for this one. Not too graphic, but not a happy film. 7.5 out of 10 good for nothings. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member A very good one! Quite intense with Tim Roth really giving the best of him.
