Audience Member Here's another great S.Korean rom-com and one that few Americans seem to have seen even among Asian film fans. Director Park Kwang-chun has made one of the better examples of the genre with this film. Hee-jin (Shin Min-ah) and Ji-suk (Jo In-seong) have good chemistry in this story about a hairdresser who offers to date her former classmate for a month and then must compete with a rival in musician/film student Sung-hae (Park Jeong-ah), whom he was in love with back in school and whom Ji-suk seems to have more in common with. A dramatic development occurs later in the film, making things a bit more serious, but doesn't derail things completely, just temporarily alters the tone of the film a bit (you could also say the same of My Sassy Girl and others). The charming actress Shin Min-ah really steals the show as Hee-jin. Sadly the S.Korean R3 dvd of this had gone out of print the last time I checked, lessening the opportunities for it to find new fans. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Read all reviews
