Eighteen year old Romain has just graduated and makes a stop at his dealer's place to try a new pill. As he heads off to a party, he sees an injured woman on the side of the road and decides to help her, but when she gets in his car, she suddenly smashes her own head against the dashboard, bleeding out until she dies. Is this a bad trip? Or is it something else? One thing is for sure, it's only the beginning of the night.

Amy Nicholson FilmWeek (LAist) Oh my goodness, the first hour, watch that, turn it off. Oct 24, 2024 Full Review Kristy Puchko Mashable MadS is a viciously enthralling thriller you don't want to miss. Oct 23, 2024 Full Review Meagan Navarro Bloody Disgusting We’ve seen viral outbreak horror movies before, following the exact same path. But MadS‘ innovation is in the clever way it tells it. Rated: 2.5/5 Oct 23, 2024 Full Review Emiliano Basile EscribiendoCine MadS will likely be remembered for its bold formal approach and its distinctive way of expressing it. Its plot and narrative, however, tend to dissolve along the way...[Full review in Spanish] Rated: 6/10 May 14, 2025 Full Review Liam Maguren Flicks (AU, NZ, UK) It’s wild, dangerous, exciting stuff that finds a genuinely novel approach to the one-shot genre. Jan 15, 2025 Full Review Steve Morrissey Radio Times The action has been carefully plotted though you wouldn't know it, thanks to the virtuoso camerawork. Daniel J Watch it once and then forget about it. A confused story, strange camera work, actors from the bottom shelf who act rather uninspired Rated 1 out of 5 stars 05/31/25 Full Review Gabrielle H It’s good, it can get a little boring especially at the start but the descent into madness was what I really loved about the movie, the cinematography was near perfect especially for a one shot film. I am not a massive fan of infection movies but I think this one is genuinely just unsettling, the slow pace, the madness, the confusion, it makes you just sit there. I definitely think it lacked character depth, I didn’t feel connected with any of the characters and honestly I hated Julia. It should’ve given us back story on each character and something that could further connect us to them to make their deaths more impactful. It’s definitely worth watching but you might be a little disappointed. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/28/25 Full Review Nad B Great long shots and acting Bloody and entertaining Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/27/25 Full Review Ido K I watched this film because it had a 93% critic score on RT and a 79% audience score - which usually means a very good film. I knew nothing about it aside from the fact that it was available on Shudder, so I expected it to be either a horror film or a thriller. I can’t recommend this film. I’m not sure what was the point of it. If it’s a horror film, it wasn’t scary. Some positives: the acting is very strong, and I do commend the one-take technique (although it’s very jarring and dizziness-inducing in the first third). I think the main issue is that the chaos unfolds but we don’t get to get familiar with the characters so you don’t really care if they live or die. The stakes could not be lower. Again, kudos to the cinematography- technically it’s a great achievement- but I’m not sure it helped the story. Overall, it wasn’t enjoyable and it’s not a film I would recommend to anyone. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 05/27/25 Full Review Jeepers C I went into this movie blindly. I seen all the positive reviews on Rt. I started watching this and was bored with movie from the start. I could care less if any of the people survived or not. I wasn't a big fan of the movie "The Crazies" either. So after forcing myself to watch this to the end, I really didn't like this movie either. Reading subtitles to this mess, made the experience even more irritating. I can't recommend anybody wasting their time with this. I liked "The Sadness'" better the this movie. Quarantine was also done better then this one. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/27/25 Full Review Daniel B Basically just another typical zombie movie, except it was done in one take and had good acting.
