Kate Erbland indieWire Magic Camp can't conjure up enough zing to put on the kind of show they deserve, something weird, something different, something even a little bit magical. Rated: C Aug 21, 2020 Full Review Todd Jorgenson Cinemalogue There's nothing magical about this strained comedy, which is predictable even for the least discerning viewers in its preteen target demographic. Dec 15, 2020 Full Review Brenda Medel Cine Premiere Predictable and full of cliches. Rated: 3/5 Aug 27, 2020 Full Review Michael Ward Should I See It Magic Camp is just not a good movie. Rated: 2/5 Aug 22, 2020 Full Review Matt Conway Battle Royale With Cheese Equally inoffensive and unremarkable, Magic Camp is likely to vanish amongst the plethora of superior Disney+ titles. Dale R A Disney+ release about a washed up magician that teaches the next generation of magic misfits at summer magic camp. Overall this film at first feels like a Disney Channel movie without much of a budget. The characters do grow on you and the finale makes this film worth watching. Isabella Crovetti plays a bunny obsessed girl that was the highlight of the film for me. Jeffrey Tambor also plays a great mentor and owner of the magic camp. I think there is enough good stuff here to recommend a viewing. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/07/24 Full Review Audience Member 2.5. Considering it’s a kids movie it definitely did it’s job and was easy to watch Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Diver J This movie was a bad recreation of School of Rock with magic instead of music. From the washed up teacher, misfit kids, kid that wants to do costumes, big finale, teacher change of heart, etc etc. Just watch School of Rock again instead. It's better. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review yash b I can tell you with almost complete certainty that I would have loved "Magic Camp" if I was a kid. I think most people are fascinated by magic tricks or illusions at some point in their lives, especially in our youth. The movie plays it pretty safe in terms of the story and I have definitely seen this sort of premise before, but its light and fun for the most part. As an adult, the main aspect that drew me to it was some of the recognizable cast members. I thought the actors had fun making this movie and did an okay job portraying the one-dimensional characters they were given. Some of the attempts at humor are clearly more geared for younger audiences, so the jokes are hit or miss. Nonetheless, this is a harmless and family-friendly diversion that can probably appeal to a wide age range. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Anthony V This definitely must see and it is funny, witty and smart. This original movie from Disney+ it does have that Disney Channel vibes especially good lesson to have fun, be yourself and move on from someone died. Learn how to care on your legacy and why we always remember why love what we do. Plus a cool magic tricks and kids and adults are good actors and this especially a good time watch during the Halloween or Summer or without singing like watching "Camp Rock". I give a A+ Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/11/22 Full Review Audience Member A Disney+ release about a washed up magician that teaches the next generation of magic misfits at summer magic camp.
