Mark L Keri's character is toxic. She doesn't like dogs, she spends 2/3 of the movie writing to baby daddy in the hopes of being whisked away, she never once in 6 months so much as hugs her husband. She useless - doesn't feed the farm animals milk the cows, gather eggs, churn butter, and can't be bothered to learn to cook, not even eggs. I spent the entire movie hoping the husband would file for an annulment and rid himself of this selfish entitled future cheater. If your girlfriend likes this movie, jump out the window and run for your life. I understand I'm a lone voice in the wilderness, modern women think every girl deserves a happy ending. Olivia doesn't. She deserves a large collection of cats. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/02/25 Full Review Jass W One of my all time favorites! It's so rare that you see an author capture both sides of interpersonal conflicts in a way that shows sympathy for both perspectives. In this story an institutionally educated city girl comes to marry and live with a practically minded country man, and the author doesn't tell you that either is wrong and should conform to the other's right way of thinking. Instead you're guided through the friction of their relationship to a better understanding of both. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/15/25 Full Review ABC W A very well-done movie! It has great acting, a well-done and realistic script and storyline, artistic cinematography and good music, and it inspires with such timeless values and true-to-life struggles and character development. The CGI was the only thing that I found a little lacking at times, yet I saw how they sought to use it to add to the beauty of the movie. Congratulations and thank you to all who made such a good and clean movie! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/04/25 Full Review Rubski T It was by random luck that I happen to see this movie. I really didn't have much expectations but was I in for a surprise. The story while simple and straightforward really was beautifully woven and respectful of each character. The biggest revelation for me was Skeet Ulrich's portrayal of Ray Singleton. It was sweet, sincere, complex, layered and unpredictable. Just when you thought he was one thing, he makes a small gesture, a twitch, a movement that makes you realize the silent waters that run deep in this man's soul and that he's more intelligent and more observant and infinitely loves - than Livvy gives him credit for. For someone who grew up so isolated and at such a period of time, he actually sees a much wider view of the world. What a beautiful character and Ulrich embodies Ray like no other. His restraint is effortless. What a job well done! This will go in my collection as one of the finest I've seen. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/07/25 Full Review Nina E I have now watched this small gem twice in three days. I was especially interested in the nuanced acting by Skeet Ulrich - subtle and believable. Keri Russell is also to be commended and the rest of the cast was solid. I was unfamiliar with this until I watched it and it is a story that supports that there is goodness in a world where we make mistakes. That resonated with me as did the title. This is an under-rated film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/29/24 Full Review Audience Member Cannot stop thinking of the movie all day long, it filled my heart with gentleness and love. One of the best movies I have ever seen. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/29/24 Full Review Read all reviews
