The four best things to happen to Nag's film are Dulquer Salmaan, Keerthy Suresh, Samantha Akkineni and the costume designers. These three actors are in top form and equally shoulder this film. Go to Full Review

pranav 2 May 28 Mahanati – A Soul-Stirring Tribute to an Icon Rarely does a film not just tell a story but embody a life. Mahanati isn’t just the best movie I’ve ever watched—it’s an emotional journey into the brilliance, vulnerability, and legacy of one of Indian cinema’s greatest legends: Savitri. Keerthy Suresh's portrayal of Savitri is nothing short of extraordinary. She doesn’t just act—she becomes Savitri. Every glance, every smile, every heartbreak is rendered with such depth that you forget you're watching a performance. It feels like witnessing history unfold in real time. The narrative, while reverent, never shies away from complexity. It beautifully captures Savitri's rise to stardom, her magnetic screen presence, her generosity, and her tragic descent—all while celebrating her indomitable spirit. The film honors her without glossing over the pain and struggles that made her story so compelling. Technically, Mahanati is a visual and auditory feast. The cinematography paints vintage South Indian cinema with authenticity and charm. The music, evocative and timeless, adds another emotional layer to the storytelling. The production design lovingly recreates the golden age of Telugu and Tamil cinema with meticulous detail. What truly makes Mahanati unforgettable is its emotional resonance. Long after the credits roll, Savitri’s laughter, her tears, her brilliance, and her humanity echo in your heart. This is more than a biopic—it's a love letter to a woman who lit up the silver screen and left behind a legacy that still glows. Rating: 10/10 – A majestic tribute to a timeless queen. A must watch for all generations. It involves emotion, fame, compassion and addiction. 💯 See more 08/13/2020 Featuring an extraordinary performance by Keerthi Suresh and a strong supporting cast, Mahanati is an outstanding film directed by Nag Ashwin. The writing and direction, along with good production values, music and cinematography, make for an engaging and immersive emotional experience. The film made me laugh, it made me cry, and had me rooting for Keerthy Suresh's Savitri throughout. A MUST WATCH FILM FOR ANY FILM FAN. See more 09/11/2019 Savitri was a stunning actress of her times. Her life and her generosity and her conviction over here screenplay as an actor was something always worth a watch. She took the Telugu film industry by storm. Her expressiveness and her beauty made people fall in love with her. No one could keep a count on how many autographs she signed all her life. But alas, a falling marriage and a failing film career resulted her great downfall as a woman, as a mother, as a pioneer. After living a luxurious life, a glorious character in her own right died an infamous death. This is a mainstream film with smarts. The reason why it is the best Non-Hindi film I've seen this year lies in the fact that it doesn't demoralize and create sensation about her downfall, and plays its notes with utmost sincerity and conviction. The film has people on top of their craft. And after Deepika Padukone and Kangana Ranaut in 'Piku' and 'Tanu weds Manu Returns' have I seen such an amazing, beautiful and effective performance by an actress. And after so long has Telugu cinema got such a layered biopic. For me, it ranks right up there with 'Iruvar'. A pleasurable film, in every sense of word. Not only is it poetic and charming, it also offers a fresh observation, something Indian biopics are ultimately accused of never having. See more 01/04/2019 Keerthi Suresh did an incredible portrayal of Legendary Savitri Garu from 50's Indian Cinema. The movie is so moving and the way the highs and lows are shown is so enigmatic. This movie alongside 96 would clearly be the winner for 2018 for me.
