Jasmine 05/23/2024 I took a my friend group out to watch this movie. Each of us are from different part of the world (Vietnam, Mexico, Russia, Puerto Rico, Native American, and England). Despite our diverse friend group, we all loved this movie dearly and had a meaningful talk regarding our thoughts on the movie. This movie will always have a special place k not heart. See more Anders 03/31/2024 My first in-theatre experience viewing a Vietnamese cinematic production. Filming, editing and production are absolutely top tier quality. The acting and relatability to the main characters made for a perfectly immersive experience. The story of a young single mother making here way in life in Ho Chi Min City (Saigon) was beautifully told, and filled with romance, comedy and touching life drama. Heartwarming, inspiring and as with many Asian dramas, not always a perfectly happy ending. My only gripe would be the accuracy of the subtitles. I don't speak Vietnamese, however my wife is a native speaker. I'd estimate I missed a good 30%-40% of the dialogue due to the loss of cultural and semantic nuance omitted in the translation.
