Nicolas P Anything with these three actor's is watchable. The story is a bit far fetched, but it holds your attention. If you want something that is pretty stress free and has a good ending, this is good time filler. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/24/24 Full Review Test T The DVD I watched was simply titled "The Heist" with the word "Maiden" omitted. It's not all bad, but it feels like an afternoon TV movie with OTT casting. The material they had to work with just seemed too implausible to me from the beginning. I found the musical score irritating, and not in keeping with the age of the characters. The story was far fetched before adding the anniversary vacation thread which for me just made it silly. While there were lots of scenes of the heist happening, why they were happening sometimes seemed unclear to me and any intended comedy misfired, Unfortunately, I never managed to invest in either the story or the characters and therefore could not recommend this movie. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 12/02/23 Full Review Marty A I am a sucker for heist movies, I'll admit, so seeing one starring a bunch of older guys seemed novel. Didn't hold my breath but was pleasantly surprised. It's a very cute movie. The relationships between the three main characters is realistic, and between the main character and his wife is adorable. Walken and Freeman are charming and Macy is hilarious. Of course the premise is shaky but it's touching to see the passion these characters have for their respective pieces of art and their heartbreak at seeing them being taken away. A very watchable and rewatchable movie. Really good! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review philip c Walken didn't have to steal the painting, it was his wife all along! The Shoveler did ok, and Freeman played a weak man for a change. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie wasn’t like terrible it just wasn’t funny enough or creative enough to ever grab my interest 2.5 Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 06/15/22 Full Review samuel l Garbage writing and comedy wise. The plot was ludicrous, the characters were one-dimensional idiots, the sets/props/costumes were bland, and the pacing was dragged out. However, the main cast put on reasonable performances, the cinematography and visual effects were acceptable, and the soundtrack was suitable for the genre. Borderline watchable, but it should have never been made. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews
