Exploring the United States in his precious '69 Mustang after his retirement, former CIA assassin Richard Malone (Burt Reynolds) breaks down in a small Oregonian town. He has to cool his heels while his car is being repaired, and it isn't long before Malone starts noticing a string of disturbing events in this not-so-normal rural community. It turns out a local crime boss (Cliff Robertson) believes Malone was sent to kill him, which isn't true. At least not initially.

This is an excellent movie which still resonates today. In the movie Malone, an ex-CIA operative character played by Burt Reynolds ends up battling a delusional right wing nut who wants to take over the United States. This movie has aged well because our country is now unfortunately being run by right wing MAGA extremists.

Malone is a disappointing film. It is about an ex-C.I.A. hitman running from his past. Burt Reynolds and Cliff Robertson give terrible performances. The screenplay is badly written. Harley Cokeliss did a horrible job directing this movie. I was not impressed with this motion picture.
