Audience Member No matter what the character did, playing it straight or just being his angry self, the times always worked against him Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Turgid story, pretty b&w images at times (esp. in club scenes), terrific music but often brief—this ain't no musical—with a valiant and terrific cast, literal direction that doesn't manage to enhance the narrative. Davis, Jr. had better opportunities to show his multiple-threat skills on Broadway (singing, dancing, acting, playing the drums and piano), but he does what he can with "Adam." Clifford Terry Chicago Tribune Davis skillfully agonizes over his role, bringing it possibly to its maximum potential, which unfortunately isn't much. Aug 10, 2021 Full Review Kevin Thomas Los Angeles Times The screen all but bursts with [Davis'] intense talent. It is an awesome experience merely to witness him hold a pause. Aug 10, 2021 Full Review Ken Barnard Detroit Free Press A production with the look of being hastily stitched together, while nurturing loftier ambitions. Aug 10, 2021 Full Review Dennis Schwartz Dennis Schwartz Movie Reviews It remains a curiosity film long after its release. Rated: C+ Aug 16, 2020 Full Review Read all reviews
