acsdoug D Although the dialogue feels a bit dated here and there, you would think you can't go wrong with a Michael Curtiz/William Powell detective neo noir. You would be right. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 05/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Michael Curtiz directed this early talkie with William Powell as a private eye in Paris who falls for the beautiful woman, Margaret Lindsay, he's investigating. It takes some time to get going, but it's a pretty good yarn once it's kicks into gear, even if Powell and Lindsay don't have that great of on-screen chemistry. Not a classic, but worth watching for Powell fans. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member I don't know if this was pre-Thin Man. But William Powell gives a good performance as a down and out Private Eye. An enjoyable little movie.
