See more 03/22/2014 Michael Curtiz directed this early talkie with William Powell as a private eye in Paris who falls for the beautiful woman, Margaret Lindsay, he's investigating. It takes some time to get going, but it's a pretty good yarn once it's kicks into gear, even if Powell and Lindsay don't have that great of on-screen chemistry. Not a classic, but worth watching for Powell fans. See more 03/15/2014 I don't know if this was pre-Thin Man. But William Powell gives a good performance as a down and out Private Eye.
