Audience Member A sailor suffers the loss of his family through the cruelty of another man. Years later, when he meets that man again, he faces the question of whether to avenge himself or not. Sjostrom's film is an underlooked masterpiece of poetry and pace. Its slow, soothing rhythm allows the viewer to be immersed into it in a greatly intimate way, and this is also achieved thanks to the stunning and groundbreaking photography.
