Wendy Ide Observer (UK) As a portrait of friendship, viewed through the compound eye of a mutant insect, it is multidimensional and rather moving. Rated: 4/5 Sep 18, 2021 Full Review Kevin Maher Times (UK) Dupiex is on sublime form for this kooky road movie... Rated: 4/5 Sep 17, 2021 Full Review Sheila O'Malley RogerEbert.com What works so well in Mandibles is how it's set up as a basic heist movie, using very familiar elements, so familiar they're almost tired cliches, before going completely off the rails into random demented territory. Rated: 3/4 Jul 23, 2021 Full Review Carla Monfort Espinof Mandibules is a bright and optimistic comedy that vindicates friendship (and stupidity) with a lot of humor and fantastic touches. [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 4/5 Aug 28, 2023 Full Review Júlia Gaitano Mendizábal Otroscines.com Contrary to what may seem from its surrealist approach and Manu and Jean-Gab's nature, Mandibles results in a feel-good movie about friendship. [Full review in Spanish] Dec 19, 2022 Full Review Dallas King Flick Feast A crowd-pleasing farce thanks to the ever-increasing degree of misunderstandings, hysteria and physical comedy as the two men and a baby fly get in over their heads... best to simply embrace the absurdity and enjoy the ride. Thom G Initially, I was deterred by the film's apparent silliness and considered stopping it altogether. However, as I persisted, I found myself appreciating the genuine and somewhat touching absurdity of the duo, as well as the completely outrageous nature of the story. It's a peculiar film that may not appeal to all tastes in humor. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/26/24 Full Review Frank D Humor dels 80 actualitzat al 2020. Crítica a la societat adinerada… Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/29/23 Full Review Raph G Like any Quentin Dupieux movie, the absurd is the main character. Here, 2 morons capturing a human-sized fly. And by the way of a quid pro quoi being invited by some kids in their house for a weekend. Things then get oddly funny from there. I don't like all of Dupieux necessarily but Mandibles is very approachable, the absurd is not overly present which helps with the engagement, and some actors deliver exhilarating performances (Adele Exarchopoulos! Gregoire Ludig!). Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/17/23 Full Review Brad P There is something inherently likable about the way Dupieux depicts his two moronic stars and Ludig and Marsais' performances imbue them with a Dude-like sense of purposelessness. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/28/23 Full Review David F This one is very good if you're looking for something very dumb. If you are looking for anything but goofy laughs, definitely look elsewhere. :-) Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member I loved this film. Absurd but it draws you in. Such an engaging fly. The final shot made me laugh right through the credits. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
