Manny P We all know the story and it's precursor, but this is just vapid nonsense that doesn't shed any light on the trade craft involved. It's actually quite boring and a bit blah blah blah. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 06/25/22 Full Review Audience Member A reasonable watch but not too revealing which probably shouldn't be a surprise when it's about CIA operations. Seeing some of the CIA characters and hearing a bit of background was at least a bit enlightening. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review john m Some of the interviews are terrific but the directing and editing of this doc is just messy and incompetent, which is a shame given the material is utterly engaging for any viewer. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Very good documentary on the hunt for Osama bin Laden. I am sure the book has much more info not covered in the 2 video hours. Still, I found a lot of the footage used interesting and the thought process of the agents insightful. This covers many aspects of the story covered in the movie Zero Dark Thirty, which I thought was very insightful. This documentary as well as Zero Dark Thirty are highly recommended by me. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Interesting, stock-standard and fact based. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Good documentary, especially for folks who want to get the basic facts about the bin Laden hunt without watching all the other movies about the issue. John Anderson Variety "Manhunt" is dense with information and revelations, and Barker interweaves his archival footage, Philip Sheppard's moody music and contrasting lighting to keep the film's sensibility nimble and shifting. Jan 29, 2013 Full Review John DeFore Hollywood Reporter Gripping procedural only can benefit from controversy over Zero Dark Thirty. Jan 22, 2013 Full Review Bill Chambers Film Freak Central One of the central pleasures of genre cinema is running your fingers along well-worn grooves, but while Man Hunt trots out a lot of chestnuts, it's the film's tendency to burn through them with bemusing haste. Rated: 2/4 Sep 21, 2017 Full Review Brent Simon Shockya.com A frustrating viewing experience. The success of the superb book upon which it's based -- distilling the essence of disparate strands, and connecting them -- proves too difficult a lift for director Greg Barker. Rated: C May 1, 2013 Full Review Michael Dunaway Paste Magazine Manhunt is a frustrating experience, though not without its rewards. Rated: 6.8/10 Feb 1, 2013 Full Review Michael Nordine Film Threat It's telling that some of this documentary's most compelling segments are made up of pre-existing footage.
