Marie Curie: The Courage of Knowledge may test the patience of some viewers with its deliberate pacing, but this sensitively made biopic has its well-acted rewards.

Bilge Ebiri Spirituality & Health Noëlle has a dreamy visual style that pulls us into Marie's emotional reality, and we find ourselves captivated by this fascinating, pioneering woman. Mar 23, 2020 Full Review Ed Potton Times (UK) ... biopic of a French icon that's beautifully photographed, sensitively acted and punishingly dull. Rated: 2/5 Nov 29, 2017 Full Review David Parkinson Empire Magazine A fascinating life is reduced to a series of skittishly edited and visually stylised vignettes that do scant justice to Marie Curie's scientific achievements and Karolina Gruszka's laudably intense performance. Rated: 2/5 Nov 27, 2017 Full Review Joanne Laurier World Socialist Web Site Being Polish and a woman, Marie perseveres against all obstacles in the male-dominated French scientific establishment. Feb 22, 2021 Full Review Debbie Lynn Elias Behind The Lens Talk about an exquisite film! Visually stunning. Fascinating story and solidly engaging construct. Oct 30, 2019 Full Review Al Hoff Pittsburgh City Paper It is the sort of film that manages to incorporate languid baths and a duel (!) with obtuse conversations with Einstein and an overt feminist message. Audience Member To watch this movie I used boxxy software. It's free app with super quality movies. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Marie Curie deserves better Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member I didn't know Marie Curie's story before this movie. This film wet my appetite to learn more about her and more about her discoveries. She was a passionate woman who lived her life to the fullest. The movie could have focused less on her personal love life and more on her discoveries and values. The movie is in French and often the subtitles are written in white lettering on a white background, difficult to see. Worthwhile movie! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member This wasn't Greer Garson's "Madame Curie" MGM 1943. Feminism & Marie's sexuality along with her scientific brilliance make up this interesting movie. Not knowing much about the Curies, I know a bit more and will investigate. (Marie won Nobel prizes in chemistry & physics; first woman to win a Nobel and only person to win two. Her daughter Irene also won a Nobel in chemistry.) Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Beautiful and very important film.
