Daniel Auteuil actúa y dirige este remake de la clásica trilogía romántica (basada en la obra teatral de Marcel Pagnol), cuya primera parte, "Marius", fuera dirigida por Alexander Korda, en 1931. Es como una fotocopia "a color" del original, pero Auteuil logra rescatar mucho de su encanto y humor, con un muy eficiente reparto.

Assez fidèle à la charmante pièce de Pagnol, avec de superbes décors et des interprétations senties; Marius est une réussite que je ne me tannerai jamais de regarder!...Très hâte de voir le reste de la trilogie par Daniel Auteuil!
