Shubhra Gupta The Indian Express Manisha Koirala can't save this bland film... Rated: 2/5 Mar 27, 2020 Full Review Swetha Ramakrishnan Firstpost If only writer-director Neeraj Udhwani had focused less on "it's all about loving your family" and more on "it's all about lip-smacking bun-maska", Maska would have been a lot more watchable. Rated: 1.5/5 Oct 9, 2023 Full Review Akhil Arora Gadgets360 [If] the title of your movie has no thematic underpinnings to it, it doesn't bode well. ... Maska is a frivolous and farcical joke of a movie. Jul 3, 2020 Full Review Prathyush Parasuraman Film Companion I rooted for nostalgia to win, just because of how flaky ambition looked. But the charm of the past lasts only so much; the failure of this film speaks to a broader failure of the culture of nostalgia. Apr 6, 2020 Full Review John Serba Decider Maska wants to be a sentimental comedy, but it's miscalculated, tonally labored and coated with an odiferous coat of feel-good shellac. Apr 2, 2020 Full Review Shikhar Verma High on Films Maska is sweet but there's definitely a better coming of age tale that is waiting for you in the Netflix queue. Choose that over this one for sure. Audience Member A simple slice of life movie with great performances. The story is predictable but still very enjoyable the way it has been told. It's a simple feel good movie with a heart. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Initially movie starts well but after 5 min ita again cliche movie, nothing new nor enjoyable. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member I only made an account to write that this is one of the worst movies i have wasted my time on in my life Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Is there really such a dearth of creativity in Bollywood? Even Netflix Originals from this la la land seem totally unoriginal and cliché. Meanwhile, South Indian cinema is oozing with creativity, new ideas, great acting and fantastic stories and screenplays. If only they had the budget of Bollywood, we would have had some great world cinema level entertainment. These joyless coming of age love triangle scripts are as stale as the bun-maska that you get in some of these dilapidated cafes of Mumbai. Waste of Netflix's creative freedom provided to content creators. Sacred Games flopped hard in its Second Season. I didn't even bother watching Bard of Blood. And now this from Bollywood. I wish Netflix started roping in South Indian creative talent to develop better movies and shows from India. Disappointing! Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Read all reviews
