Ruth Maramis FlixChatter Film Blog An inspiring film that offers a fresh contrast to the usual conflict-driven media by highlighting the Ukrainian creatives’ sense of purpose and community. It powerfully highlights how the female dancers defiantly refuse to be silenced. Rated: 3.5/5 Sep 11, 2025 Full Review Carmen Paddock MovieJawn ...these acts of independence, creativity, and community bolster a national culture and a collective sense of purpose, release, and support—something proved time and again throughout Ukrainian history. Kevin G This documentary does a fantastic job at demonstrating what it is like living in Ukraine during the war from the perspective of a dancer. It also executes every key documentary element well, and I like that the dancers express themselves through their art and in their favorite places. I also like that the people in the film motivated people to continue their art even when they’re in bad situations like this. This film also has some great B roll shots, and I would recommend this film to anyone who likes documentaries about war, as well as people who are artists. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/13/25 Full Review Marcos L I would recommend this documentary, because it deals with a very interesting topic, it's a very sad one, as it is the war, but I think it has a very important message, and a very important aim, of spreading, to make visible and to denounce the social and human consequences of the war. It uses great all the documentary techniques, but focusing on the interviews, besides normal interviews, this documentary has a very special way to transmit what they want to tell us, and it's through dancing, through what the women transmit to us their feeling, sensations, problems, etc. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/12/25 Full Review Jamie C This movie was a interesting watch, I thought the broll was pretty good and the war sirens brought a intense atmosphere -Jamie chopon Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/12/25 Full Review Hawk M I enjoyed the film and the mission which it conveyed. The women were inspiring with their dances, motivating people to create and express. Some of the moments in the film felt slow or confusing of the purpose, and the dances them selves were not my cup of tea, but overall I would recommend the film to artists of all sorts. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/12/25 Full Review Jessica N i thought it was good as it showed the world how people live through wars and they showed their stories through dance. i would recommend it to people who like watching documentary's Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/11/25 Full Review Nolan K It was pretty enjoyable, I liked seeing the people living through the war and how they and their families struggled with the reality of it all. But the dancing parts don't appeal to me, I've never understood dance and it seems really weird to me. It was fine but just not for me. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/11/25 Full Review Read all reviews
