Eddie M Seems like a Tim Heidecker role... couldn't shake that feeling. A few amusing points after a tough start, it mostly missed Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/31/23 Full Review Nabilla S The documentary is pretty good, and the way they acted look awesome, but my favorite is Simon starring Dylan O'Brien, he looks so fine, funny, iconic and chaotic.. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/08/23 Full Review Wes M We only get a couple good comedy movies a year now. This and Renfeld are basically it so far. This was funny and smart. It's like a movie about Michael Scott, mixed with Kathryn Hahn's character in Parks and Rec, mixed with some Andy Samberg Popstar. If you like witty mockumentaries with no dumb CBS sitcom-style jokes, then you'll like this. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/02/23 Full Review Pepper T A really bad comedy with very few genuine laughs. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 06/24/23 Full Review StephenPaul C LOL, the funniest 01 hour: and 31 minutes ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Claudia Puig FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) Low-key but funny. Jun 28, 2023 Full Review Noel Murray Los Angeles Times Barinholtz and O’Brien are funny enough to keep this movie bubbling along, even when it’s low on ideas. Jun 27, 2023 Full Review Randy Myers San Jose Mercury News It’s painfully funny given that at many times Maximum Truth does speak the truth -- almost too authentically -- about the politics of today. Rated: 3/4 Jun 21, 2023 Full Review Erik Childress Movie Madness Podcast A satire that cannot decide whether or not its protagonists are true grifters or genuine believers which loses the edge it needs to take on the Jacob Wohls and Jack Burkmans of the world. Barinholtz's The Oath is the film to see instead. Rated: 2/4 Jul 12, 2023 Full Review Frank Swietek One Guy's Opinion There are scattered laughs here and there, and Barinholtz certainly never stops trying to sell the material...But this is a one-joke affair content to coast on the farcical surface...As such...it overstays its welcome. Rated: C Jun 29, 2023 Full Review Christian Toto HollywoodInToto.com Smart, left-leaning mockumentary makes one key error along the way. Rated: 3/4 Jun 24, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews
