Marco L (CASTELLANO) A veces lo peor no es un monstruo ni una catástrofe, sino convertirte en el centro de todas las miradas cuando menos lo esperas. Eso es lo que le pasa a Mabel en Me he hecho viral, una comedia que juega con la angustia de ser ridiculizado públicamente y lo rápido que todo se desmadra cuando las redes sociales deciden que eres su nuevo juguete. La película tiene en Blanca Suárez a su mejor baza. Ella es el corazón que sostiene toda la historia. Vemos cómo se va metiendo en una espiral de desgracias que mezclan ternura, rabia y desesperación. Lo cierto es que es muy fácil ponerse en su piel, porque cualquiera en su situación sentiría lo mismo: la emoción inicial de perder el control, el miedo a no poder parar la bola de nieve y, sobre todo, la tristeza de comprobar que nadie está ahí para echarte una mano cuando más lo necesitas. El tono es ligero y disparatado, con un aire muy reconocible: todo el mundo parece vivir pegado a las redes y nadie se libra de quedar en evidencia en cuestión de segundos. El guion no inventa nada nuevo, pero sabe jugar bien sus cartas. Hay momentos muy cómicos (algunos incluso brillantes) y otros en los que asoma cierta amargura. Cristina Gallego, por ejemplo, roba escenas cada vez que aparece, con frases que se clavan en la memoria, y Daniel Fez aporta un punto surrealista que encaja muy bien con la propuesta. Miguel Rellán, como siempre, se gana nuestro cariño sin esfuerzo. Se nota que Jorge Coira, acostumbrado al thriller, cuida el ritmo y la narración para que la película nunca pierda fuelle. No todo funciona igual de bien, pero al menos intenta salirse del molde de la comedia de manual y darle un poco más de personalidad visual. Lo consigue a ratos, y eso ya es bastante. Nadie va a decir que sea la comedia del año, ni falta que le hace. Lo importante es que entretiene, que arranca varias carcajadas y que refleja bastante bien la sensación de estar totalmente expuestos en internet. No va a cambiarte la vida, pero sí consigue que te vayas a casa pensando en qué harías tú si te tocara pasar por la pesadilla de Mabel. En resumen: divertida, cercana y con un punto amargo que le sienta bien. Una comedia que funciona mejor de lo que parece y que nos recuerda que, a veces, lo más gracioso es ver cómo el desastre ajeno nos pone frente al espejo. That’s exactly what happens to Mabel in I Went Viral, a comedy that plays with the nightmare of public humiliation and how quickly everything can spiral out of control once social media decides you’re their new toy. The film relies heavily on Blanca Suárez, and she delivers. She’s the heart of the story, carrying us through Mabel’s spiral of disasters that mix tenderness, anger, and desperation. It’s easy to put yourself in her shoes, because anyone would feel the same: the shock of losing control, the fear of not being able to stop the snowball, and the sadness of realizing no one is there to help when you need it most. The tone is light and a bit crazy, full of recognizable beats: everyone seems glued to their phones, and it takes just a few seconds for someone’s life to implode. The script doesn’t reinvent comedy, but it knows how to play its cards. Some moments are genuinely hilarious, while others carry a touch of melancholy. Cristina Gallego steals scenes with her sharp one-liners, Daniel Fez brings a surreal vibe that fits perfectly, and Miguel Rellán gives the film both warmth and some of its funniest moments. Director Jorge Coira, more known for thrillers, keeps the pace tight and the story engaging. Not every risk pays off, but at least he tries to avoid the cookie-cutter feel of most comedies and give the movie a bit more personality. That alone makes it stand out. Nobody will call this the comedy of the year, and honestly, it doesn’t need to be. What matters is that it entertains, gets plenty of laughs, and captures that unsettling feeling of being exposed online. It won’t change your life, but it does make you wonder how you’d handle things if you were stuck in Mabel’s nightmare. All in all, it’s fun, relatable, and has just the right amount of bite. A comedy that works better than it looks and reminds us that sometimes the funniest thing is seeing how someone else’s mess reflects our own lives.
