For viewers inexplicably hungry to see stars wasted on a desperately unfunny comedy, Me Time might be the movie of the year.

What the movie lacks in wit it makes up for with variety. There are masturbation jokes, porn jokes, excrement jokes, penis jokes, breast jokes, fart jokes, vomit jokes (visual as well as verbal). Go to Full Review

Me Time is another algorithmically driven Netflix production that has been released, will end up in the top 10 (potentially the most-streamed movie of the weekend on the platform), and then be immediately forgotten the following week. Go to Full Review

Instead of putting time and effort into crafting a competent script, it feels like Netflix simply fed Hart and Wahlberg into its famed content recommendation algorithm and released whatever came out. Go to Full Review

Me Time is a perfectly watchable buddy comedy that’s aware of what it is. John Hamburg lets Kevin Hart and Mark Wahlberg shoulder the entire weight of the movie, and that’s exactly what they do. Go to Full Review

Sean T Oct 18 Don’t waste your time on this one See more BRizz 2 @TheMovieSearch Aug 5 Me Time (2022) — starring Kevin Hart and Mark Wahlberg — should’ve been a surefire comedy hit. With a duo known for their charisma and comedic timing, expectations were high for something outrageous, funny, and wildly entertaining. Unfortunately, the film falls flat on almost every level. The humor feels forced, the pacing drags, and both Hart and Wahlberg are guilty of overacting to the point where scenes become exhausting instead of amusing. Wahlberg, in particular, seems to push way too hard in moments that don’t require it, turning what could’ve been subtle laughs into awkward stretches of screen time. And Kevin Hart, though undeniably talented, leans so heavily into his usual shtick that it feels recycled and hollow. Regina Hall, while a strong actress in many projects, feels miscast here. She doesn’t quite ground the film the way her character should. Instead, her role feels more like an afterthought or parody than a meaningful addition to the story. There’s a lack of chemistry and purpose for her character that makes her presence feel underutilized. And let’s be honest—the only thing anyone seems to talk about with this film is Mark Wahlberg’s nude scene. If that’s the most memorable takeaway, then the film clearly missed the mark. Me Time is forgettable, frustrating, and ultimately a waste of potential (and budget). A film with this much star power shouldn’t feel this bland, but somehow it does.
