New student Cady Heron (Angourie Rice) is welcomed into the top of the social food chain by the elite group of popular girls called "The Plastics," ruled by the conniving queen bee Regina George (Reneé Rapp) and her minions Gretchen (Bebe Wood) and Karen (Avantika). However, when Cady makes the major misstep of falling for Regina's ex-boyfriend Aaron Samuels (Christopher Briney), she finds herself prey in Regina's crosshairs. Great message! Singing was good, but there is a lot of it so be aware of that if you are not a musical person. Dress was provocative in some scenes even though the students were supposed to portray high school students.

I personally love musicals and did not get to see this on Broadway so it was a treat to see it in the movies. The cast is very talented with amazing voices. Could have done without repeated view of deep cleavages though

Mean Girls sees itself as the 2004 movie’s young Gen-Z cousin. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a fun, enjoyable movie with plenty to love for fans of the musical. However, it’s difficult to see why fans of the 2004 film wouldn’t just watch that movie.
