Audience Member Overpowering photography. Watch out especially for the wild steadicam and the turbulent colors in the "Chinamma" song. Recommended only for fans of Santosh Sivan. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Some people find it pretentious and some weird. I belong to minority. I like it. I am not sure if I understood all its intentions and ideas but whatever I gathered, I enjoyed. Its habit of constantly throwing different ideas or some interesting detailing after every once in a while charmed me. The filmmakers seem to have so much fun making this that I couldn't resist being a part of it. I also like its sense of humor, both in its dialogues and visual suggestions. Its excellence also lies in its, production design, camera work, choreography and editing. This film also proves why Rahman is an excellent musician, a genius whose music makes you believe that nobody could have done justice to this film other than him. Which is the case with whatever he does. In this case he aptly brings grandeur and mystery. Then there is of course Tabu here, at her best. She very successfully manages to bring out three characters using separate body languages and accents. The seduction and impatience in Hyderabad, the grace in Jaisalmer and the innocence in Prague. She holds the whole film together with her striking presence. She certainly is an outstanding actor. And this is one of my favorite films.
