      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Dark and vulgar, Meet the Feebles is a backstage comedy featuring puppets that offers proof of Peter Jackson's taste for sheer outrageousness, even if it often lapses into pure juvenilia.

Teddy B 'Meet The Feebles' very uneasily walks the thin, thin tightrope between being entertainingly raunchy and technically impressive to feeling overly juvenile and in poor taste. The technicals in terms of lighting, effects, and voice acting only add to the uncomfortable atmosphere. The humour is almost always consistently spot-on, though. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/24 Full Review Savannah W if you want to see A good muppet's parody aimed at adults don't watch this go watcn DHMIS instead Rated 1 out of 5 stars 06/05/23 Full Review Henry S One of the greatest feats of puppetry i've ever seen, the raunchiness and character variety truly make this movie an all time classic Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/02/23 Full Review Urme l It shows our more banal and animal side, what a good movie Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/27/23 Full Review Benny S Very funny film but it's extremely underrated. The ending was sorta sad. It's also one of those films that are in serious need of a blu ray release. PJ confirmed years ago that a 4K release was underway, well..where is it now Peter? Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/04/21 Full Review Joel C The strangest mix of characters all working on a musical production. I feel like this was a big gamble to make considering how much effort it would have taken and time spent. There is some rough scenes throughout the film of degradation, humiliation, abuse and betrayal, drugs, sex, std's and you name it lol. The music itself is pretty cool with talented musicians. All in all it's a strange film with a unique vision. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/07/21 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

James Berardinelli ReelViews While I found parts of it diabolically clever and funny, I thought the setup was overlong and certain aspects of the production either didn't work or were needlessly overdone. Feb 9, 2006 Full Review Janet Maslin New York Times Destined to stand as an unfortunate footnote to Mr. Jackson's career. Rated: A Sep 1, 2022 Full Review Tim Brayton Antagony & Ecstasy A unique experiment, and one whose insights into human behavior aren't as important to it as its sense of curdled black humor. [But] we can't write it off as just a gonzo provocation. Rated: 7/10 Apr 27, 2015 Full Review Rob Hunter Film School Rejects Rated: B- Nov 26, 2011 Full Review Read all reviews
