Ela Bittencourt The L Magazine A prostitute's sexual freedom is a fiction; though this isn't news, the film confronts the issue with rawness and panache. Apr 12, 2018 Full Review Stanley Kauffmann The New Republic Even if this film were not cordially made, which it is, it would have a considerable jump-start. Jun 18, 2013 Full Review Rick Groen Globe and Mail Despite the occasional stumble, the doc never falls, thanks to the sheer strength of its subjects' undaunted and indomitable character. Rated: 3/4 Dec 14, 2012 Full Review Emily Kirkpatrick Paste Magazine Despite the pleasure of spending a little over an hour with these two warm, loving women, Meet the Fokkens often falters as a film. Rated: 6.7/10 Aug 16, 2012 Full Review Avi Offer NYC Movie Guru Amusing and even liberating to watch, but lacks sufficient insight and revelations. How often do you get to see a doc about elderly prostitutes? Rated: 7.79/10 Aug 11, 2012 Full Review Marsha McCreadie Film Journal International The feminist documentary takes up the battered-wife syndrome, low pay for female workers, forced separation of mothers and children and-finally-a woman-owned business. Gloria Steinem must be happy, though the film centers on 69-year-old twin hookers. Aug 7, 2012 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member This is a lovely little pantomime of a movie where the cast of De Niro, Streisand, Hoffman and Stiller work well together. It is genuinely funny, albeit in a predictable way, but if you find yourself on a plane or you as trying to pick out a movie to watch at home, this is a safe bet and a pleasant way to spend two hours Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member Frequently dull and often feels unfocused. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Just did not do it for me. It actually made me feel sad. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member The Fokken women seem fun and vivacious. Too bad this celluloid homage is so aimless and dull. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member A couple likeable, interesting characters. Sadly, the story doesn't progress as well as I'd have liked. The ending was very weak. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member This documentary was breathtaking and raw. These women were full of life and vivacity. You can't help but laugh with them and feel their struggles and be inspired. I thoroughly enjoyed this rare insight of the red light district through the eyes of two amazing, ripe, hilarious and exhilarating sisters Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Read all reviews
