Hank Sartin Time Out Rated: 3/5 Nov 17, 2011 Full Review Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times Memories of Tomorrow is the first movie I've seen about the disease that is told from the sick person's point of view. Rated: 3.5/4 Nov 30, 2007 Full Review Michael Phillips Chicago Tribune Watanabe brings ferocious commitment to the sort of role that many an American awards body has been known to champion. Rated: 2.5/4 Nov 29, 2007 Full Review Debbie Lynn Elias Behind The Lens Already an award winner, Memories of Tomorrow is one of my Must See Films of the Year. There won't be a dry eye in the house. Nov 13, 2019 Full Review Michael Dequina TheMovieReport.com Ken Watanabe makes his character's whirlwind of fear, anger, and defeat painfully immediate. Rated: 3.5/4 Jan 20, 2012 Full Review Andy Klein Los Angeles CityBeat This would be a totally manipulative disease-of-the-week movie, were it not for Tsutsumi's gentle direction and Watanabe's intense performance. william d A decent depiction of a man's descent into dementia, although I found it a bit too cliche-ridden and overly sentimental to recommend. Ken Watanabe as the Alzheimers-stricken husband is the focal point, but if you ask me, Kanako Higuchi as the devoted wife steals the show. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member What will happen if a successful salaryman suddenly starts to lose his memory? Ken Watanabe played the role convincingly as the man battling with Alzheimer's disease. The first 2/3 of the movie had all the highlights of the film. One scene I found significant is when Ken said goodbye to his team. His team gave him a send off that is both funny and moving. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member Simple & Sad, Good performance from Watanabe Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member æ~æ-¥ã? (R)è¨~æ¶ï 1/4What a tear jerker... (;_;) Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Apparently a better translation of the title is Remembering For Tomorrow, which works a lot better as it's a drama about a Japanese businessman discovering that his increasing lapses of memory are really the early onset of Alzheimers. Set over the next few years, everything - his job, his relationship with his wife, his self-assurance- gets overturned as the disease takes hold. The soundtrack is truly dreadful (unless you love violins) but the acting is genuine and the story is heartbreaking...get the hankies in before you watch. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member This is such a true story. It is not important anymore for Watanabt recovering or not, but the message of family, help, hope and love it brings along. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews
