It's an artful, slightly absurdist romance, reminiscent of the gender-war comedies of Hong Sang-soo (Woman on the Beach) but more straightforward, with its meanings, and its feelings, much closer to the surface. Go to Full Review

It gets by on the subtle interplay of its contrasting leads, a welcome store of deadpan humor and, especially, Choi Sang-ho's gorgeous widescreen photography, which makes even a trip to an impound lot into a luminous, dusk-lit experience. Go to Full Review

Remarkable portrait of a "type" of guy: perceptive,kind,loving,engaged, everything a woman would love. BUT it is hopeless to love this "type." Jane Austen or George Eliot, would comprehend this movie better than the RT reviewers have, so far. I saw the movie at MOMA, and found it transfixing. I don't think anyone left during the movie, and most people stayed sitting all through the Korean credits at the end. It's an amazing character portrait.
