Phil Hoad Guardian Dutifully trots out the fantasy tropes – quest narrative, chosen-one hero, multicoloured unicorns aplenty – but doesn’t really pluck anything compelling out of this otherworldly brew. Rated: 2/5 Oct 17, 2022 Full Review Read all reviews

Mylah B I loved watching Mia and Me when I was younger. The idea of escaping to another world to be an elf was constantly on my mind, and I also loved the friendship between Uko, Mo, and Mia in the tv show. The Hero of Centopia movie however, did not highlight their friendship much at all, the main villain was not compelling, and the stakes did not feel very high. Iko seemed kind of forced and wasn't a very compelling character despite being focused on more than Uko and Mo. However, I loved getting to revisit the world of Centopia and feeling the joy I felt when I used to watch the show. On top of that, the animation was a big step up from its previous visuals in the tv series which I liked, and I enjoyed the last scene of the movie, and what it might set up for future content. Overall though, this movie just left me wanting more. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/29/25 Full Review Read all reviews
