Ed Power Daily Telegraph (UK) It’s a breezy watch with nothing insightful to impart... But it is guided by the implicit understanding that any project about the Beatles will inevitably find an audience – and that is an itch it undeniably scratches. Rated: 3/5 Nov 4, 2024 Full Review Leslie Felperin Guardian It’s all a bit too sanctified and safe -- lacking in rock’n’roll edge perhaps -- but Fortune-Lloyd’s core performance is deeply empathic and buoys the film up as it races through the stations of Epstein’s short, sharp shock of a life. Rated: 3/5 Oct 30, 2024 Full Review Sean Boelman FandomWire With a conventional screenplay and many limitations because of its budget, Midas Man is charming nonetheless thanks to a strong lead performance and a bountiful helping of nostalgia for one of the most iconic bands in the world. Rated: 6/10 Jan 21, 2025 Full Review Frank J. Avella The Contending The reason to see Midas Man, Joe Stephenson’s timid biopic of Beatles’ manager Brian Epstein, is the grounded, impressive titular performance by Jacob Fortune-Lloyd as well as a few terrific supporting turns, especially the great Emily Watson... Rated: C+ Jan 19, 2025 Full Review Danielle Solzman Solzy at the Movies Midas Man is a long-overdue biopic celebrating Brian Epstein's life and while it takes dramatic liberties in storytelling, the film is a must-watch for Beatles fans. Rated: 4/5 Jan 15, 2025 Full Review Nora Lee Mandel Maven's Nest Groovily traces impresario Brian Epstein’s career as gay Jew from Liverpool of Mersey Beat to world with family, personal and Beatles breaking-up pressures. Suitably embodied by Fortune-Lloyd with archival images flashing behind him for period contexts. Rated: 7/10 Jan 14, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

Jay G What could have been a very enjoyable film was ruined for me by the bizarre casting in 'height' of The Beatles!! John was way too short, and to have George towering over him, when in fact he was shorter than John, is just weird. It is such a pity as the rest of the cast were expertly cast! But I just couldn't stop looking at John's shortness throughout the movie. Very clumsy mistake to make. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/11/25 Full Review Orange S I watched this last night. I couldn’t help but feel this as a re-write of history which elevates Epstein to a place of genius Svengali who made the Beatles and created their entire success. The talent themselves are reduced to accidental passengers, instead of witty and sharp coming across as docile and obedient to whatever Brian tells them. It is very telling that what is glaringly missing from this “story “ is the actual music. Because that is the very thing that can’t be taken away and rewritten. The final culmination of this odd vanity project is an implied scene that Epstein even manufactured the famous Abbey Rd shoot, leading the band on. Really quite awful in its hagiographical manipulation. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/01/25 Full Review Midas M The trailer and hype caught my eye on this one and very glad to say it was worth every minute of watching the movie. Excellent performance from Jacob as Brian and.many other colourful, fun characters throughout made the movie insightful but fun. A story well told of his troubled personal life, but most importantly highlights and demonstrates how he helped shape pop culture for many generetions. His eye for talent was second to none and this movie acts a reminder of his charmever, charisma and drive Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/14/24 Full Review John H What on earth was all that about? After the hype and the wait, it was cheap and badly done. I heard this was a $20million movie well the money is NOT in the film! As a Beatles fan I can NOT recommend this. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 12/07/24 Full Review Phil M A delicate treatment and touching tribute to the so-called 5th Beatle Starting life in Liverpool and at the forefront of the group's US and global breakthrough. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/04/24 Full Review Jonny G Midas Man shows Brian Epstein for the first time as a standalone personality, rather than as an accessory to the Beatles. His story is complex and nuanced and screenwriter Brigit Grant brings this out so sensitively. It’s a great cast which includes Emily Watson and Eddie Marsan and Jacob Fortune-Lloyd in the lead role plays Brian with suave and panache.
