Sabina Dana Plasse Film Threat The film works best on a subconscious level. Rated: 7/10 Jul 11, 2023 Full Review Emily DuGranrut In Review Online Soule and Talbott’s approach ends up creating a convoluted film that feels unproductively hazy, and which saps much of the potential emotionality. Jun 23, 2023 Full Review Josh Bell Crooked Marquee Characters stare wistfully into the distance, delivering a lot of poetic musings that don't add up to much. Rated: C Jun 20, 2023 Full Review Chase Hutchinson Collider To demand Midday Back Midnight Blue abide by convention is to futilely demand the agony of loss itself be neatly packaged. The beauty and terror of life is in how incomprehensible it can be, making any film that captures this a rare gift to be cherished. Brian H Beautifully shot, fantastic performances, and an emotional story. Inspired, indy filmmaking! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/28/23 Full Review Emmie B I just finished watching this film, and it was absolutely beautiful. This is a film you don't just watch, you experience it. From the way each scene is stunningly shot, to the sounds, the poetic and lyrical script, it transported me there into the heart of the story. This is a story of love, loss and deep deep grief, that I feel in some way or another we can all relate to. Heartbreaking and incredibly beautiful performances by Chris Stack, Samantha Soule, Merritt Wever and all the cast. I found so much of myself in Beth's character, but I feel as though there are pieces of each character we can all see bits of ourselves in. This is a film that stays with you, and I cannot recommend it enough. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/09/23 Full Review Billy R A raw and brutal look at grief and how it affects the human mind. This stunning film digs far deeper than most films go when it comes to exploring the impact losing a loved one has on a person. Using a complex but incredibly clever structure this film walks a fine line between reality and twisted memories - and ultimately offers a satisfying payoff just when you reach the edge of your seat. The performances are nothing short of incredible, and this is made possible by the beautifully nuanced writing that chooses to focus on the little moments in a relationship rather than the usual clichéd bigger moments. This gives the story the raw element that carries it throughout - it is these small moments that stick with us when we think about our relationships and it is a breath of fresh air to see a film focus on these! It's brave, it's brutal, it's uncomfortable, but above all - it's brilliant! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/02/23 Full Review Alison R This little indie movie beautifully captures how much grief can cause a person to be lost in their life and escape from how much pain their suffering in reality. Well written and Directed by Samantha Soule ( Godless and Outer Banks) and Daniel Talbott. And excellent performances by Samantha Soule, Chris Stack, Merritt Wever and Will Pullen. Congratulations to all involved with this fantastic movie. Please go check it out. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/19/23 Full Review Roz S Huge congratulations to the cast and crew on this movie. I'm a huge fan of both Merritt Wever and Samantha Soule and it was good to see them together in this independent film. #supportindiefilms Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/17/23 Full Review Mark H Absolutely amazing!
