Lucion V Someone here said this would be a good movie for a fan of paper and pencil adventures such as D&D, the person who said this clearly has never played because you expect to understand a little of what you're getting into some exposition is necessary in a case where you're building a world like this. So because of this I found this to be a little disappointing even though I knew this was supposed to be the 2 part pilot for a series and more information would have been given in the series that was supposed to come. The beginning left you feeling as if you should know information already they did not explain much so the character building was poor, there was no continuity to place the character within, no context to understand why certain things were important. I think that's probably why the series was never picked up it did not grab you by the short hairs and say pay attention it did not get you interested in characters it just dropped you in their lap and said he's good guy he's bad guy. I've never played the game so I cannot be critical in this aspect maybe this is true to the way the game is, I don't know. I've played other pen & paper RPG games since I was 9 and I'm 50 now, this did not appeal. Had this become a series maybe it would have been good maybe it would have compared to the Outpost but as it sits this movie did not appeal to me. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/20/25 Full Review Audience Member Creditable try at alternative (fictional) history. Namely, what would the World of Men be like if the War of the Rings had been won by Mordor? The film was well produced and acted but ran out of puff and came to an abrupt and unsatisfying end. Maybe there was to be a Part 2 but it couldn't get funding. I came across this film on a junk TV channel but found it engrossing enough to watch to the end. What is there is above average for the genre. If it had been rounded off better it might have become a minor cult classic. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member The writing of this story is actually quite good as are the actor's annunciation which is a reminder of Shakespeare. The editing misses beats at times, however the scenes overcome this error of timing. Simple and fun. Nibbles: Elephants Paw Cream Cake. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member A great movie for Pen and Paper fans. Sometimes a bit cheesy. Better character development than in most other fantasy movies - not only for the protagonist but for the antagonist as well. Of course this was planned as a trilogy but they couldn't afford more movies. So the first part is essentially an introduction to the characters and the plot with just a bit of development. If you like D&D, Hackmaster and similar games, give it a try. As long as you think you can handle the feeling of watching what seems like only half a movie. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member kinda blah. ends just when it gets interesting Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member this movie had some good things about it, namely its sets, costumes, and actors that could for the most part act. However, it didn't do a very good job of being approachable to someone who has never had anything to do with the game it is based off of. And to top it off there was no real ending to it, as if it were the first in a volume. I think the big reason that up set me was the fact that I know I would never watch a squeal ( that is if they even make one) and so got no closure to the story line.
