Probably one of the best Chinese movies I've ever seen. Great aesthetic, relatable and deep stories. Love the imagery of Shanghai, a lot of cool night shots of the city. Based on a Japanese movie series, I like how it actually feels touches on realities very specific to Chinese modern culture , sometimes in a subtle way others as part of the many side stories portrait in the movie.

It was embarrassing to watch this copy of the Japanese version. Geez, at least try to b original. Even got a guy that looks like the Japanese chef! There r so many local Shanghai characters and stories to be shown, instead, 10 minutes into this super cringe-worthy copy, I shut it off and removed it from my watchlist. Sad.
