Rated: 4/5 Feb 23, 2020 Full Review Simran Hans Observer (UK) The combination of perspectives paints a vivid and hopeful portrait of a family, as well as an indictment of the refugee crisis. Rated: 4/5 Jan 20, 2020 Full Review Ed Potton Times (UK) Shot entirely on iPhones, the Afghan director's charming and moving documentary charts his three-year flight with his young family from Tajikistan, where they had failed to find asylum, 3,500 miles to the west. Rated: 4/5 Jan 17, 2020 Full Review Vadim Rizov Filmmaker Magazine For all that, I find myself (churlishly?) rejecting Midnight Traveler... Jan 4, 2023 Full Review Panos Kotzathanasis Asian Movie Pulse If one wants to realize the situation and the overall circumstances the refugees who flee to Europe face, one has to look no further, "Midnight Traveler" offers the best look in the subject, that of the "insider". Audience Member Good documentary but some elements should have been explained better, such as the asylum processes. The last steps of the journey didn't make sense. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review dave d This hubby and wife date night movie was 'Midnight Traveler', a documentary on refugees who also happen to filmmakers. The husband and wife team shot this on three cell phones and the journey is eye opening and takes a lot of empathy. I found myself pausing the movie a few times because it just has to be so traumatic for the families who are forced to go through this. It doesn't matter what country you're a refugee from, what matters is that we treat people with decency. We all could be refugees, you just never know! Wife: 7.1 Hubby 7.5 Final Average Score: 7.3/10 Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Such a raw footage of their journey and what immigrants go through. My heart went out to them on so many occasions I held my breath hoping for good outcomes. I loved it. I wish them well Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Conveyed the desperate struggle to obtain safe haven from terrorism. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Outstanding and heartbreaking. I am the child of a refugee who successfully made it to the US. I wish the family the best of luck. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member Luminous, revelatory, and heart-breaking, Midnight Traveler reminds us of the humanity we share with every refugee in the world--and that there but for the grace of God go we.
